2021 Tree Plant

June 17, 2021

When Summer finally starts to show, it often signifies growth and regeneration, and in forestry, it’s no exception. At the beginning of May every year, Miisun runs an annual tree plant. On the Kenora and Whiskey Jack Forests, over 1.2 million trees were planted during the 2021 planting season. The tree planting is being done by Brinkman Reforestation.

Tree planting is usually conducted in areas that have been harvested which were mainly composed of coniferous trees (pines and spruces), but can be done in other situations as well. If you have any other questions regarding tree planting, feel free to contact Derian Caron at derian.caron@miisun.ca.
