Scholarship, 2023

April 11, 2023

“Jeffrey Ross is from Northwest Angle #33 First Nation.  He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Idaho. Jeffrey’s research focuses on the commitments being made by Canada’s forest sector to reduce its Scope 3 emissions–or those emissions commonly associated with a company’s supply chain–to determine if those emissions reduction targets are reasonable, achievable, and align with the Science Based Target Initiative and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol corporate greenhouse gas accounting standards.

Before returning to graduate school, Jeffrey served as the Program Manager in Forest Governance and Stewardship at the BC First Nations Forestry Council and the Director of the Territorial Planning Unit at Grand Council Treaty #3.  Jeffrey holds degrees from the University of Montana (B.Sc.) and Yale University (M.F.S.).”
